Today's Yard, March 30

I am leaning on my coach door where I'm parked in Wildwood Park's parking lot, Radford VA. Here in the sunshine I watch as the dripping water builds formations on the rock that would in a cave become stalagmites and stalagtites.
Yesterday I spent after-work with friends in Copper Hill, near Floyd VA. This is one of the things I love about this life: Friends in lots of neat places and opportunities to visit with them.
Today is sunny, warm, calm, a perfect day to dust off winter's cobwebs and walk a couple - three miles. Radford has a river walk/bikeway which passes through this park and Bisset park. I went in both directions, through light woods and meadowland and through civilized park / playground / etc. I saw a sign for canoe rental. I would have followed that arrow if it were earlier in the day.
A few miles away on Route 8 there is a buffalo restaurant / store, Buffalo And More, which sells locally raised buffalo meat. 4141 Riner Rd., Riner VA. I stopped by on my way here to get some meat for my freezer, and found work friends already there enjoying a burger.
More pictures soon, from the laptop. This is from the phone.

Today's yard March 19

Today's yard is circa 1810, not 2010. Time traveling: loads of fun. Curious? http://buffalo-woman.com

Spring??? In today's yard!

It's actually WARM! Not just not freezing. Birds singing. Sun shining. If I were a bit younger i'd have done cartwheels this morning!
Now maybe I can write about something other than snow!

Today's Yard, March 2nd....

3rd, 4th.... I'm glad I'm to be at this store the next TWO days because it's forecast to snow for that long and I really don't fancy driving the rig around in it. Yes, it's snowing AGAIN. It's pretty bleak looking out there right now but I expect that to become a pretty, sparkly scene tomorrow or Thursday. I'm glad to have a nice view, not just a parking lot.
I have an 18th century camping trip planned for 2 weeks from now. I might be nuts! Where IS spring, anyway?
